Kingboard
Kingboard Holdings Limited established its first laminates manufacturing plant in 1988. The Group now operates more than 60 manufacturing plants, with business activities ranging from laminates to printed circuit boards, chemicals and properties development in China. With continuous investment in plants and production facilities, our outstanding management team and vertically integrated business model enable the Group to allocate resources more effectively so as to enjoy cost advantages through operational efficiency and advance our market share. Moreover, the Group had successfully built up a brand new business segment - properties developments in recent years, which further enhances our diversified business portfolio.
In 1993, Kingboard was listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Kingboard Copper Foil Holdings Limited, the Group's subsidiary, was spun off for a separate listing on The Singapore Stock Exchange in December 1999. In November 2004, the Group successfully acquired Elec & Eltek International Holdings Limited as part of a strategic expansion plan. In December 2006, the Group successfully spun off its laminate business, Kingboard Laminates for a separate listing on the main board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. The Group's natural gas based methanol JV with China BlueChemical in Hainan province commenced production in December 2006.
Now, Kingboard is a multi-national corporation with a global workforce of about 36,000 and annual sales in excess of HK $40 billion. The Group was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the Global 2000 leading companies for the second consecutive year in May 2011 and by Bloomberg Businessweek as one of the leading Tech 100 companies in May 2010.
